THE LEGION OF MARY

The Legion of Mary is an international association of Catholics who formed themselves into a legion for service in the spiritual warfare of the church.

Founded in Dublin Ireland in 1921, it has branches in almost every country where the Catholic Church is.  The legion is governed by a system of councils. The central council which is the highest is in Dublin. In Singapore, there is a Legion in every church and in different language medium (e.g. English, Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian, Korean).

Some works of the Legion are listed below:

• Home & hospital visitation.

• Contact work in public places.

• Teaching catechism.

• Ministry to the sick and elderly.

• Leading prayers & religious services.
